Lightroom Presets for Forest & Nature Photography
Quickly achieve an atmospheric and dreamy look for your forest landscapes in Lightroom Desktop & Mobile
Professional Lightroom workflow consisting of 7 modules and 51 presets
The 13 different basic looks combined with 10 split toning presets result in an exciting variety of combinations and final editing results. The presets work with a large variety of forest landscapes of the temperate climate range in all seasons: Dense and dark fir forests, misty coastal woodlands, lush green spring forests or abstract macro details such as lichen, foliage and mushrooms.
These are not your average 'one-click presets'.
This product is designed as a structured workflow and consists of seven modules. This gives you the freedom to individually shape the final image with a selection of adjustment presets and develop a repeatable personal style in the process. A structured workflow frees you from the worries of where to start and what to do next.
Compatible with Lightroom Desktop and Mobile (DNG presets included)
All Lightroom presets are included in XMP, lrtemplate and DNG format to ensure maximum compatibility and flexibility across platforms and devices. → See also: Installation instructions and notes for mobile presets
You will certainly not find a comparable preset package that offers more versatile editing options for your forest and woodland landscapes.

The special focus is on the green and brown tones of forest vegetation, but the presets can also achieve exciting results with other types of landscapes. The example images on this page should give an overview for which type of scenes the product is best suited for. If you are unsure, please contact me with a link to your portfolio.

The presets work very well in combination with the Dark & Dramatic preset pack, which is also included in the Complete Shop Bundle.
How the presets work
This collection of Lightroom presets is created as a carefully thought-out workflow, and all 51 presets are grouped into seven modules.
There are 13 basic looks to choose from, each with a slightly different focus, color scheme and atmosphere. Most looks achieve an atmospheric and more realistic look, and others follow an abstract direction with inspiring and surprising results. Split toning is an integral part of all presets, and I recommend experimenting with the different split toning presets and adjusting the strength using the saturation slider.
1. Exposure (11 presets)
2. Basic Looks (13 presets)
3. Split toning (10 presets)
4. Vignetting (5 presets)
5. Grain (4 presets)
6. Noise reduction (4 presets)
7. Sharpening (4 presets)
As a first step, the white balance should be checked for all images and adjusted manually if necessary, since the lighting situations in the forest can be very challenging for a camera.
As always, I tested all presets on hundreds of photos from different camera manufacturers including Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Olympus, Samsung, Sony and more. The presets work for a variety of different forest landscapes of the temperate climate range in all seasons, but work best on photographs taken on cloudy or foggy days with a rather monochrome color scheme.

Before and after examples
The examples give a realistic impression of the presets. Only the basic settings like exposure, highlights or shadows were adjusted manually; everything else is based on the presets.

One image. Numerous looks.
The exciting feature of this product is that you can choose vastly different approaches to editing a single image. Often a variety of looks can be applied to the same image with great results, as shown in the example images below.

Please keep in mind that after setting the exposure correctly and applying your favorite look (Module 2), you still need to adjust the basic settings of each image before going into the fine-tuning process. In particular, you’ll need to tweak the highlights, whites, shadows and blacks in the Basic panel of Lightroom.
