Frozen Lakes №2: Elegance of Chaos
The colored rivers that form on frozen lakes are known as "ice rivers" or "ice streams." These phenomena are caused by meltwater flowing beneath the surface of the ice and creating channels or streams. As the water flows beneath the ice, it picks up sediments and minerals from the lakebed, which can give the ice streams a range of colors, including green, blue, and brown.
