Amber Currents
South Coast of Iceland
Amber Currents
Some rivers on Iceland's south coast take on a striking yellow tone, shaped by geothermal activity, volcanic eruptions, and glacial melting. Sulphur-rich sediments and mineral-laden waters create unusual hues that transform the river surfaces into abstract, painterly patterns. What fascinates me most are the unexpected color schemes, the sense of movement within a still frame, and the way outflows suddenly shift or stop, leaving behind fleeting traces of water and sediment.
