Googlebook – Desktop Wallpapers
photo licensing | client: googleTwo of my landscape photographs from northern Iceland were selected by Google for the new Googlebook lineup. Available under the "Desktop Exclusive" collection, both images come pre-installed across all Googlebook models. The project brings my abstract nature photography to larger screens, with a focus on natural textures, subtle colors and organic patterns.
"These two photographs were taken just a few meters apart, on different days and in different light. Despite their contrasting colors and textures, they feel closely related. I particularly like how naturally they work together as a wallpaper collection."

Behind the Scenes in Iceland
I discovered this particular stretch of the Jökulsá á Fjöllum glacial river almost by accident a few years ago, after noticing some unusual patterns along its banks. I've returned several times since, and during this particular trip, I spent several days exploring the area. Every day looked a little different. Changing water levels, wind and erosion constantly reshape the sand and sediments, sometimes creating entirely new patterns overnight. It's this temporary, ever-changing nature of the landscape that keeps drawing me back.

The Desktop Exclusive Collection
A special thank you to Andrew for making the introduction, and to the Google design team for choosing these photographs. It's wonderful to see these small fragments of Iceland finding their way onto screens around the world.
