What Darkness To You Is Light To Me
“To look at the height of Snæfell it seemed impossible to reach the summit. But after an hours' fatigue and athletic exercise, a sort of staircase suddenly appeared in the midst of the vast carpet of snow lying on the croup of the volcano, and this greatly simplified our ascent.”
― Jules Verne, Journey to the Center of the Earth
Snæfell (or Snæfellsjökull) is a 700,000-year-old glacier-capped stratovolcano, situated on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in Iceland. Based on the book Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) by Jules Verne, the volcano is the entrance to the center of the earth. The title of the series is also a quote from the book.
